When we embarked on the idea of One Tree Rule, we knew we had to have a partner who could plant the trees for us. It didn't make sense to "re-invent the wheel" and set up the infrastructure to do that when there are groups and organizations already doing this. To pick the right partner for this endeavor we created a checklist. The organization that checked most boxes was going to be our partner. The checklist was:
- The organization had to be large enough to provide a good 'per tree' cost.
- The organization had to have a way to accept the funds that would be convenient for us and our donors.
- The organization had to have a way to 'track' the planted trees so we could let the donors know.
- And MOST importantly, the organization had a trusted track record.
It didn't take long for us to find the organization that checked all the boxes definitively. That organization was "One Tree Planted". Not only did they checked our checklist, they were also very helpful in guiding us. Even their payment system was easy enough that we can just send all payments directly to them.
